The actor John Abraham has been conferred with Pride of the Nation award for exploring the story behind India's former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's assassination in Madras Cafe. The award was presented to the actor by Anti Terrorist Front’s chairman M S Bitta. The film `Madras Caf`e set in the late 80s and early 1990s, during the time of Sri Lankan civil war and the assassination of then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was banned in certain cities, but despite all of that, `Madras Cafe` emerged as a hit.
And now being inspired by real life patriotic stories, John also has future plans to make a movie on Abdul Hamid who was awarded with the Param Vir Chakra for his courage during the 1965 Indo-Pak war.
