'Dhoom 3' crosses Rs.250 crore

'Dhoom 3', starring Aamir Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, is minting money at the box-office


After becoming the first movie to make the fastest Rs.100 crore in just three days of its release, Aamir Khan-starrer 'Dhoom 3' has created another history by minting Rs.252.70 crore at the domestic box office within two weeks, including earnings from the Tamil and Telugu versions.

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the movie, which came out on December 20, was released in about 4,000 screens. Also featuring Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, 'Dhoom 3' was made on an approx budget of Rs.100 crore. Read more on MSN

Actress Suchitra Sen's condition remains stable

 Hospitalised after a respiratory tract infection, Bengali actress Suchitra Sen's condition continued to remain stable today, said the doctors.

"She continues to remain stable as yesterday. Her vital parameters are satisfactory," a medical bulletin issued by Belle Vue Clinic, where she was admitted on December 23, said.

Hospital sources said the 82-year-old Sen's lung infection was under control and antibiotics administered to ease the fluid accumulation in her lungs were working.

Bollywood epic vs. comedy at box office this Friday

This Friday viewers will have a choice between the 3D version of 1975 action drama 'Sholay' and Arshad Warsi starrer comedy film 'Mr Joe B. Carvalho'.

The 3D version of the Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra starrer 'Sholay' has been a much awaited film as the original is still watched and loved. Produced by Sascha Sippy, grandson of G.P. Sippy who had financed the original, the new one promises to provide an entirely new viewing experience to the audience when it hits 1,000 screens.

While the original 'Sholay' was reportedly made on a Rs.4 crore budget, the revised version has been made on a budget of about Rs.22 crore which includes restoration and conversion cost.

It took three years to convert the film into 3D.
