Rumoured lovebirds Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif made their first public appearance together at the special screening of 'The Wolf Of Wall Street'.

The duo, who have been vehemently denying their relationship, looked quite the couple in love.

Directed by Martin Scorsese, 'The Wolf Of Wall Street', starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie and Matthew McConaughey, is based on the memoir of disgraced stockbroker Jordan Belfort, who made a fortune by defrauding clients and spent it on expensive cars, homes, a yacht, hookers, orgies and all the alcohol and drugs he could consume.

Looks like Karan Johar may go from acting opposite Ranbir Kapoor in director Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’ to directing him in his own film.

The buzz is that Ranbir Kapoor has been offered the lead in Karan Johar’s next film, which he will direct after his shooting for ‘Bombay Velvet’ is completed. Parineeti Chopra may star opposite Ranbir.

If this pairing goes ahead, this will be the first time Parineeti and Ranbir’s will appear together in a film.

Of course, all this has to be taken with a pinch of salt. No one is sure whether this is the same period romance Karan Johar was thinking of making sometime ago. He’s also jumped between three actors so far: Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Siddharth Malhotra, and now back to Ranbir.

The director himself denies deciding on anyone for the role yet. “I’m still scripting the film and have not offered the film formally to any lead actress,” he said, smartly not commenting about the choice of the actor. So is Ranbir Kapoor confirmed now?

If Kapoor Jr. is confirmed, he has many busy months ahead of him. After ‘Besharam’ and ‘Bombay Velvet’, he will most possibly star in Anurag Basu and Ayan Mukherji’s next. Parineeti Chopra, on the other hand, has a relatively freer schedule. Let’s wait and watch how this casting game goes.

"Jagga Jasoos" will bring together 1990s hit star Govinda, known for his dance and comic timing, and current heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor together on the screen as father-son and Ranbir is quite excited to see `Hero No. 1` as his on-screen dad.

Ranbir said: "I am very excited about the film because we all somewhere have been influenced by Govinda as an actor and dancer. For me, he playing my step-father is really an exciting opportunity for me."

"I hope with 'Jagga Jasoos', we can give him the right platform to his talent," added the 31-year-old.

'Jagga Jasoos' marks Ranbir`s foray into production, but the Kapoor scion doesn't feel any pressure.

"I don`t have any pressure as a producer. I am working with Anurag Basu again and we have certain ideology about films. We are here to make a good and entertaining film," said the actor whose last film 'Besharam' fell flat at the box office.

This will be Ranbir`s second film with Basu post the success of  Barfi!, and he will team up with Katrina Kaif again in the film after `Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani`.

Ranbir Kapoor’s latest release Besharam’ has a basic problem - it does not live up to its name. When you watch Ranbir you do not expect an out and out ‘Besharam’ comedy. However you do expect some smart assery if that is what is projected in all its promos. Good performances, the Kapoor clan, and some good humour could not really create the magic that you expect from the entire crew. The young Kapoor is a teen heart throb, here he tries to be more, and doesn’t really do too well. ‘Dabbang’ was a great make of classic masala film making that came from Abhinav Kashyap, and was pulled off with élan by Salman Khan. Salman stood out in his archaic 1990s hero avatar, delivering loudmouthed-applause-inducing dialogues looking as if he spoke like this every day. Despite Ranbir’s refreshing acting skills, he falls short – probably because he looks just out of ‘Wake up Sid’ cuteness.

The parts where you end up enjoying the most are Rishi and Neetu Kapoor’s sequences, and by the end you are disappointed that they did not have as much screen time as you would have liked. It looks like Abhinav wanted to work with a plot that involved all three, but his ambitions stopped short right there. He did not bother with a plot line which was fantastical enough to accommodate all three of them sharing the screen space and make a compelling must watch blockbuster. The story revolves around a good hearted orphan, Babli (Ranbir), who has grown up to be a car thief. He falls for the ‘beauty’ Tara Sharma (Pallavi Sharda). Rishi and Neetu play a slightly corrupt, cop couple - Chulbul and Bulbul Chautala. The movie has a predictable plot, atypical of masala flicks, using stereotypes of every kind. The love story between Babli and Tara is unconvincing. Not that you need a why and a how, but it doesn't build up at all.

Also, one major grouse I had with the movie was that I was waiting to understand why Babli was called Besharam in the first place. By the standards of how Indian movie heroes are generally shown wooing ladies, Babli was quite a softy, giving flowers to the leading ladies mom, carrying her grocery. Apart from what you have seen in the promos, Ranbir never goes beyond pulling out socks from his pants. The other two Kapoors are fantastic. Every time Rishi and Neetu appear on screen they manage to entertain. From the first chase sequence to the climax, the few minutes that they have, they have pulled off the chemistry that they were known for back in the 70s. Neetu Kapoor plays gutsy, stands on equal footing as Rishi, and has a good comic timing. She jibes and jokes with Rishi, who is equally cute with her whenever they are seen together. It’s like watching an old endearing couple still in love who have managed to keep the fire alive because of their romance infused in a sense of humor.

The first half of the movie is rather floppy, but the second half of the movie picks up the plot. But the climax is worth watching. Rishi, Neetu and Ranbir fight side by side; Rishi Kapoor takes the center stage and you realize Kashyap probably made the movie only for this scene. The music of the movie comes from Lalit Pandit who is the part of the 90s famed Jatin-Lalit duo. ‘Dil Ka Joh Haal Hai’ which is filmed near the traditional lahlahate sarso ke khet sounds like a track straight out of that decade. Another refreshing track is ‘Love ki Ghanti’ which reminds you of Kishore Kumar’s fun songs from the 60s. It has a conversation structure and sounds really fun! The title track and the other tracks, even though nothing to write home about are more or less enjoyable.

As Ranbir fan, one would not really mind the movie. But it does not make an impact as ‘Dabbang’ moment for the hero. The superstar in the making is probably is a much better actor than a masala entertainer and that’s something that he has proven in his previous movies. The filmmaker did not have a proper vision for an actor of Ranbir’s caliber and this one is certainly not the best for either of them!

Ranbir Kapoor may have asserted that his birthday was just as another day of the year due to his work schedule jam-packed with promotional events for his upcoming movie ‘Besharam’; but there are reports doing the rounds that Ranbir had the company of his rumoured sweetheart Katrina Kaif to make his birthday special.

It is believed that the Kapoor lad squeezed out some time out from his busy timetable to celebrate his birthday with Kat. Ranbir came to his Krishna Raj residence in the evening only to leave for an event along with his ‘Besharam’ director Abhinav Kashyap.

After the event, it is said that Ranbir was welcomed at his home by none other than Katrina Kaif, who was waiting for his return. They were later joined by Kapoor’s friend Rohit Dhawan. “The couple stayed during the night at Krishna Raj.

Ranbir Kapoor has clarified that he is not playing Lord Shiva in the movie adaptation of the best selling novel `The Immortals of Meluha`.There are rumours that filmmakers Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji have chosen Ranbir to play Lord Shiva in the film. But the versatile actor said that it is not true.

"Yes, I read it in the newspapers that it is `The Immortals of Meluha`, but that is not true. It is completely untrue," Ranbir said here in an interview."I also read in the newspapers that we are doing that (film on `The Immortals of Meluha`) but we are not doing that," he added. Karan has apparently bought the rights of `The Immortals of Meluha` from its author Amish Tripathi. The movie will be directed by Ayan and will go on the floors next year. Meanwhile, Ranbir revealed that he is working with Ayan on another project which is still being scripted. He said it`s a superhero film.

Ranbir Kapoor opens up about all the stories written about him while he was away shooting in Sri Lanka. Excerpts:
We recently saw pictures of you and Katrina holidaying in Spain. Are you both in a relationship?

Right now, given the phase I am in my life, I have opened this umbrella which comprises my family, love, friendship, my movies and things that make me happy. In the last few months, a lot has been spoken about my relationship, but I think before my personal life becomes a reality show, I would like to protect it as much as I can. It's not about one person, but involves two people, the other being a girl, and she has more to lose than me. I think there is a right time to speak about everything. But right now, I am so consumed by my life — be it my professional or personal life — that I don't want the spotlight more on that. Fortunately, I was away in Sri Lanka for the last one-and-a-half months shooting, when all this was happening and I was completely focused on my work and did not see the backlash that was coming. The pictures are out. Today, the paparazzi are not just photographers, everyone has a cell phone with a camera. If they see an actor, they click pictures to show it to their friends or have it on their phones and, as an actor, I don't see anything wrong with it. Having said that, there is a limit that has been crossed, but there is nothing right or wrong. As an individual, when you're the subject, you can feel bad about it. But too bad, you are an actor. So it's a bit of a catch-22 that you wished it did not happen, but, when you think about it, you can't really do anything about it. All this is really in between. What really matters is your movies and how good a person you are. Otherwise tabloids and news channels writing about you only builds your curiosity and stardom and propels you to reach wider places.
