While some media reports allege that Hrithik Roshan-starrer 'Krrish 3' box-office collections have been inflated, director Rakesh Roshan begs to differ.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh rubbishes these reports and questions the intentions of trade analysts who are saying that the box-office numbers quoted by the director are gross and not net.

He further explains that he has been getting updates from all his distributors, exhibitors and from places where the film is running right from the first day itself. The process is detailed and full-proof.

Questioning the authenticity of those articles, Rakesh tells Bollywood Hungama that it is impossible for anyone to exaggerate an amount of Rs. 40-50 crores. There is no way one can inflate box-office collections.

According to his calculations, Rakesh Roshan quotes that Krrish 3 has finally made Rs 500 crore. He says if you calculate entertainment tax and everything else, then Krrish 3's gross collection has crossed Rs. 500 crores.

According to reports, after the initial brain surgery to get rid of a blood clot, the actor recently suffered from a relapse which is the reason why he's headed back to the US.

While Hrithik gets treatment, his upcoming films 'Bang Bang' stand postponed.

Siddharth Anand's 'Bang Bang' stars the actor opposite Katrina Kaif, and its shooting was scheduled to begin from November 27, according to reports. Work on Hrithik's other film, Karan Malhotra's 'Shuddhi', also co-starring Katrina was to begin in December.

A concerned Katrina Kaif sensing the delay this would cause for her other films 'Phantom' and 'Jagga', reportedly met with Rakesh Roshan, only to be turned back after being told Hrithik couldn't hurry things up considering his present condition.

Actor Hrithik Roshan, whose latest release " Krrish 3" has crossed the Rs.200 crore mark at the worldwide box office, does not believe in breaking or setting new records.

He feels box office figures reflect the progress of cinema and hopes the "Krrish 3" record will be broken by forthcoming films like " Dhoom 3".

"Records, these are all facts and figures, which are essential to define the progress of cinema or any other mode of work. So it's not about breaking records, it's about being inspired by the previous records and then taking it forward," Hrithik told reporters.

Directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan, "Krrish 3" released Nov 1 and entered the Rs.100 crore club in four days.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, "Krrish 3" has raked in Rs.166.52 crore at the domestic box office and minted Rs.36 crore in its first week overseas, taking the overall collections to Rs.202.42 crore.

"I hope and I pray to god that the next one that comes after 'Krrish 3' breaks its record and that is evolution, that is progress. Keep breaking the records. Go for 'Krrish 3' now and then go for 'Dhoom 3' in sometime," said the actor who played a major role in "Dhoom 2".

Rakesh Roshan directed superhero film Krrish 3 has reportedly registered the highest collection for a Hindi film in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu by earning a total of Rs 14.53 crore in the first week.

"I don't remember any dubbed Hindi film collecting Rs 14.53 crore in its first week in AP and TN. The collection was better in Andhra because the film had a solo release, while in Tamil Nadu it had limited theatrical release due to the release of three Tamil films," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.

In Tamil Nadu, Hrithik Roshan starrer Krrish 3 had to compete with Ajith's Arrambam, Karthi's All in All Azhaguraja and Vishal's Pandiya Naadu.

"Ajith-starrer Arrambam covered maximum number of screens followed by Karthi's film and Pandiya Naadu. But since All in All Azhaguraja opened to bad reviews, Krrish 3 held its position throughout the first week," he said.

Trinath believes the film will enjoy another week of good run in Tamil Nadu.

"This is the first Friday of the year no Tamil film has released. Arrambam and Pandiya Naadu will continue to lead while Krrish 3 can enjoy another week of run at Tamil Nadu box-office. In Andhra, however, with three releases this week, we can expect some drop in the collections," he added.

It's not only the Hindi version of Krrish 3 that did well. Even the dubbed Telugu and Tamil versions of the film were received very well.

"The Telugu dubbed version was received far better than the Tamil version. Since there was not a single release in Andhra Pradesh last week but for Vishal's Telugu dubbed version of Pandiya Naadu, audiences had to watch Krrish 3," said Trinath.

"I was informed that the Telugu and Tamil versions together did a business of Rs 6.2 crore in the first week," he added.

Krrish 3 also features Kangana Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra and Vivek Oberoi in important roles.

Hrithik Roshan's Krrish 3 released in 4000 screens across Indian on November 1 and it was expected to beat all the records of Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express, which has set several new benchmarks with its collection from 3500 screens at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend. But the Rakesh Roshan-directed superhero film failed to do so in the first three days. Interestingly, it has picked up very well on weekdays and beaten six days record of the latter in the domestic market.

Krrish 3 Usually, the business of any Hindi movies drops more than 50% on Monday, but Krrish 3 proved to be an exception to this trend and that was due to Diwali holiday. The Hrithik Roshan starrer raked highest single day collection on the fourth day. Taran Adarsh tweeted, "And *highest single day* record lies shattered. Krrish3 collects History on Mon. Collects Rs 35.91 cr. The highest *single day* figure EVER. Also, Krrish3 hits a ton. Crosses Rs 100 cr mark on Mon. Fri to Mon: Rs 108.61 cr."

Interestingly, Krrish 3 kept the bells ringing at the ticket windows on the following days too. The movie has crossed Rs 150 crore mark at the domestic Box Office in just six days. On Wednesday, Taran Adarsh tweeted, "It's a rocking Tuesday!  Krrish3 is on a record-smashing spree. Collects Rs 26.26 cr. Total: Rs 134.87 cr. AWESOME." This morning (November 7), the trade expert added, "Krrish3 crosses Rs 150 cr mark in India. Wed: Rs 18.11 cr. Total: Rs 152.98 cr. FABULOUS." However, Chennai Express has collected Rs 156.7 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in seven days and its six-day domestic total was Rs 137.10 crores nett. Its breakup was Rs 6.75 cr in Paid Preview on Thu, Rs 33.12 cr on Fri, Rs 28.05 cr on Sat, Rs 32.5 cr on Sun, Rs 12.62 cr on Mon, Rs 11.5 cr on Tue, Rs 12.56 cr on Wed and Rs 19.6 cr on Thu. Now, Krrish 3 has almost surpassed its first week collection one day before the completion of the first week in theaters.

Well-equipped with a spectacular range of special effects, extravagant action sequences a la Hollywood and Hrithik Roshan as superhero, Krrish 3 promises a double bonanza for movie buffs when it comes out on Friday, just two days before Diwali.

According to sources, the Rs.100-Rs.150 crore film will see a wide release and hit about 3,500 screens. When asked about the cost, the film's director-producer Rakesh Roshan said: "I can't reveal the budget of the movie, but it has been a very costly film."

A third in the franchise that began with the 2003 hit sci-fi movie Koi... Mil Gaya, Krrish 3 will take forward the story of the superhero Krrish, played by Hrithik. The film also features Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi. While Priyanka plays Hrithik's love interest, Kangana and Vivek will be seen in negative roles.

Predicting a "thunderous start" for the film, trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels that eventually the film's content will decide its course. If Krrish 2 saw Krishna defeating Siddhant Arya to save his father Rohit, Krrish 3 will reportedly see the superhero fighting a dark force, an evil genius who is spreading fear.

"I am certain that the film will see a thunderous start. But then after that the content of the film will decide how many people go and see it," Adarsh said.

Rakesh Roshan is confident that the film will make audiences "proud". "I don't know how the opening will be for the film. But the film has been made well and it will definitely make audiences proud," Roshan said. Red Chillies VFX, a subdivision of Shah Rukh's motion picture production banner Red Chillies Entertainment, worked on the special effects worth Rs.26 crore for Krrish 3.

Aggressive promotion has become must in the current scenario as the first three days' collection can make or break a film. And the Roshans have done everything - from tapping digital space by launching the first poster Facebook to merchandising to travelling to various cities. Also, a range of special emoticons were launched as a part of the film's promotions on social networking site Facebook.
