Not playing Lord Shiva in 'The Immortals of Meluha' Ranbir Kapoor

 

Ranbir Kapoor has clarified that he is not playing Lord Shiva in the movie adaptation of the best selling novel `The Immortals of Meluha`.There are rumours that filmmakers Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji have chosen Ranbir to play Lord Shiva in the film. But the versatile actor said that it is not true.

"Yes, I read it in the newspapers that it is `The Immortals of Meluha`, but that is not true. It is completely untrue," Ranbir said here in an interview."I also read in the newspapers that we are doing that (film on `The Immortals of Meluha`) but we are not doing that," he added. Karan has apparently bought the rights of `The Immortals of Meluha` from its author Amish Tripathi. The movie will be directed by Ayan and will go on the floors next year. Meanwhile, Ranbir revealed that he is working with Ayan on another project which is still being scripted. He said it`s a superhero film.

"Ayan is still writing his film. The idea is to make a superhero film but I guess the script is not ready and I am not in a position to say anything," said the 31-year-old.

The actor is currently busy promoting his forthcoming film `Besharam`.

Ranveer Shows No Sign Of Improvement

Ranveer Singh who was hospitalized with dengue on Thursday night is not showing any signs of improvement, more than 60 hours after he was first admitted to the Hinduja Surgical Health Care in Khar.
A friend of the actor told TOI that he is currently kept in isolation and though doctors were contemplating shifting him to the Intensive Care Unit, they later decided against it.

"Ranveer's platelet count is not improving and he is experiencing excruciating pain in his bones and severe bouts of shivering. His parents are keeping vigil but they too are not allowed to meet him," said the source.

The 28-year-old was shooting in the coalmines of Durgapur, West Bengal, when he first contracted high fever. He ignored the ailment till the shoot's wrap and was diagnosed with an advanced stage of dengue after he flew back to Mumbai.

"He didn't pay much attention to it but if he was diagnosed two days earlier his condition may not have worsened the way it has," added the source.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's comeback film with husband Abhishek

Real life couple Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan will be teaming up for producer Gaurang Doshi's Bollywood comeback venture Happy Anniversary. Gaurang, who produced Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Arjun Rampal-starrer Aankhen in 2002 and Deewaar (2004), also starring the senior Bachchan, is making a comeback with two Bollywood projects in pipeline.

First among them is Happy Anniversary, which he said was based on theme anatomy of marriage, and will be directed by adman Prahlad Kakkar. The film will be Aishwarya's comeback to silver screen after the birth of her daughter Aaradhya.

We have finalised Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan for Happy Anniversary. They are ideal married couple and we felt they fit the bill. Prahlad's relation with Aishwarya and mine with Bachchan's apart, the script also attracted the couple to do the film, Gaurang told PTI.

Abhishek and Aishwarya have worked together in films- Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Kuch Naa Kaho, Guru, Dhoom 2, Sarkaar Raj and the two also shook leg in a special song in Bunty Aur Babli. Gaurang said Happy Anniversary, to be made on budget of Rs 65 crore, will go on floors early next year and will be shot in South Africa.

Prakash Raj to star in Hollywood project?

Chennai: Actor-filmmaker Prakash Raj has reportedly been roped in to play an important role in the Hollywood screen adaptation of Vikas Swarup`s ‘Six Suspects’, which is expected to go on floors March 2014. Prakash Raj has signed a Hollywood project. The film will be based on the book `Six Suspects` and is expected to go on floors in March next year," posted Kannada filmmaker Beesu Suresha on his Facebook page. Argentinian filmmaker Pablo Trapero will helm the yet untitled film. ‘Six Suspects’ is the working title of the film. Vikas Swarup`s ‘Six Suspects’ revolves around the murder of a home minister`s son at a party and the six suspects involved in it.

   The author`s debut book titled ‘Q&A’ was adapted into Oscar-winning film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ by Danny Boyle. Meanwhile, Prakash Raj is busy shooting for his trilingual directorial project titled ‘Oggarane’ in Kannada, ‘Un Samayal Arrayal’ in Tamil and ‘Ulvacharu Biriyani’ in Telugu.

India's most dangerous celebrity online : Priyanka Chopra

Actress Priyanka Chopra has topped the list of the most dangerous celebrities in the Indian cyberspace this year followed by Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, according to a study.

Priyanka knocked off Sunny Leone, who topped the list last year but dropped to the ninth position this time, in the study by security software maker McAfee. Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar were in the top five in the study which highlights how cybercriminals use celebrities to take advantage of fans seeking more information about their idols.

"In India where celebrities enjoy demigod status, cybercriminals often use their names to lure people to sites which host malicious software designed to compromise personal details and disrupt devices," McAfee India Centre VP Engineering (Consumer and Mobile Business Group) Venkatasubrahmanyam Krishnapur said.

   This year, searching for a celebrity's name, with search terms like "wall paper", "videos" and "nude pictures" resulted in the highest instances of malware-laden sites. Chopra, showed 79 infected search results, while Shah Rukh was at the second spot with 75 malicious sites, Salman ranked third, with 68 infected sites.
The top-10 list was rounded off by Saif Ali Khan, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Leone and Hrithik Roshan.

Emraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor doing work together but starrer postponed

US organisation to award Aamir Khan for 'Satyamev Jayate'

Washington: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has been selected for a US award for his television show `Satyamev Jayate` along with eminent American director Kathryn Bigelow and the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict (ICNC). They will be honoured at the inaugural awards dinner by the America Abroad Media (AAM) in Washington DC on October 28.

"Their work exemplifies the power of media to inform, educate and empower citizens about the critical social and public policy issues of our time," America Abroad Media said in a statement.

America Abroad Media said Aamir`s TV series, `Satyamev Jayate`, explores India`s biggest social challenges and has been seen by hundreds of millions of people in his country and across Asia.

Khan was also recently selected as one of TIME Magazine`s 100 most influential people.

Deepika Padukone not part of Hollywood Movie "'Fast and Furious 7" because of date issues

Deepika Padukone will not be able to make her Hollywood debut with `Fast and Furious 7`, primarily due to date issues.

There were reports that Deepika was finalized for Hollywood film `Fast and Furious 7`. The makers needed Deepika to allot dates as early as September 10.

However, she is committed to shooting with Shah Rukh Khan for `Happy New Year` and has to promote Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s `Ram Leela`.

Her official spokesperson had recently said in a statement that, "Deepika was offered to be a part of the next `Fast And Furious` movie. She is a huge fan of the franchise and it`s disappointing not to be able to do it. Unfortunately, the movie goes on the floors immediately and that left too short a time for her to shift her existing date commitments to the producers of  `Ram Leela`, `Happy New Year` and `Finding Fanny Fernandes`."

"I think a lot has been said. I have never been comfortable to talk about what doesn`t happen, I rather focus on what is happening," Deepika told reporters here last evening.

Reportedly, Deepika had beaten Kangana Ranaut and Chitrangada Singh, who had undertaken screen test for the role.

Sushant Singh Rajput to play lead in Shekhar Kapur's 'Paani'

It seems Sushant Singh Rajput is on a roll! He has been roped in to play the male lead in Shekhar Kapur`s directorial venture ‘Paani’.

It is said that after his realistic performance in ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, both Kapur and producer Aditya Chopra finalised him for the lead.

“Sushant is one of the most inspiring young actors to emerge out of India. It`s going to be an exciting director-actor collaboration with him on `Paani`,” Kapur said in a statement.

New Delhi: Controversy’s favourite child — Salman Khan — has once again courted news headlines owing to his moody and hot-headed temperament.

It all happened outside the Lilavati hospital, where Salman Khan had come to meet an ailing Dilip Kumar. But looking at the press and horde of fans outside the hospital premises, Salman decided not to venture out of his car. But when Salman was driving away in his car, he came across a fan clicking pictures without permission. Miffed over this act, Salman opened his car window, asked the fan to hand over his mobile and threw it away much to the shock of the fan and others present on the spot.

Speaking to the press, the fan expressed his dismay over the incident. He said that what Salman did was not right.
